This is my analysis and design project for my Usability Analysis (LIS 5275) class I took this Fall. Its on my home theater projector the Panasonic PT-AE900U and its remote.There is an introduction to the remote, design analysis, prototype, and evaluation of its usability.
The coolest part of this project was the prototype. I photoshoped the remote picture into a new and improved prototype remote. I then used a uncommon HTML feature called an image map to add links to the image where the buttons appeared. I attached these links to some nifty javascript functions I wrote to change the screen background, width, height, and text. The result is something a lot cleaner than the powerpoint alternative.
